This was our first Disney Cruise (On the Disney Dream Ship – out of Orlando), I am happy to share the details with you!
The photo above was taken right before we started our drive from Parkland to Orlando. Abbie and I love matching outfits, This dress was the perfect look for our cruise, not to mention how soft the material is. You can find more information on matching outfits on my Mommy and Me post.
Alright, lets start talking about this great Experience.
Disney is about making special moments, and their cruise is not an exception . Check out Disney Cruise Deals on Expedia.
We arrived around 3 pm, and we had no issues with any lines at all. We were probably the last few people to get on the ship. Lol . We parked our car at their parking garage; you prepaid the amount of $68.00 for the whole time of the cruise. ( 3 nights)
The check-in process was very fast. When we got into the ship, there was a person greeting each family, by their last names. (“Welcome the Lowry Family!!” she said) That was super special and Abbie loved it!
Our Room was on the last floor of the Ship. WARNING : Never book a room on the last floor. We had a restaurant right above us and we kept hearing people walking by and dragging chairs until late every night. I made a complain on the first night, they tried to help us, but really the best thing is to avoid at all costs booking a room on the last floor. As a mater of fact, this was the only complain we had about this whole Disney cruise Experience.
We booked a room with a Balcony. It was pretty spacious with a King size Bed and a cough that changed into a single bed. The sheets of our bed were so comfortable and soft. Not to mention the quality of the mattress; amazing! Felt like a 5 star hotel, for sure 🙂 The room had 2 bathrooms. 1 Bathroom with Toilet and a sink, and another one with shower and a sink. I have never seem a cruise with 2 baths like this. It was very practical to our family.
The Dream ship, has a pretty cool pool area. Perfect for kids all ages. There is a splash zone area for little ones and also an awesome slide that goes all around the pool area, perfect for older kids and adults.
Hands down the coolest part about being on a Disney cruise is having all Disney characters on board. They are out for meet and greed everyday at different times and locations. I recommend you download the Disney Cruise app, this way you would know ahead of time, where and when to meet them.
SHOWS / ENTERTAINMENTS:
There is one big main Theater for all guests. There are no reservations requirements for the shows, just make sure to get there about 5 min before each show to guarantee a good seat. They have 1 show per night and they run each show twice per night.
The shows were:
1- The Golden Mickeys
2- Beauty and the Beast
3- Disney’s Believe
Also, there is a pirate night show on the pool area. This show has fireworks at the end. Make sure to get there about 20 min before the show starts to guarantee a good view. This was a really cool experience, we never had fireworks on a cruise before, and Disney has fireworks on most of their cruises.
RESTAURANTS
The coolest thing about the dining experience on this cruise is that you get to dine at a different restaurant each night. Each restaurant has a unique Decoration, and the best part you get to keep the same waiter for the whole cruise. To me, this made our trip very special, because the waiter was always playing with out daughter and he knew all of us by name
THE FIRST NIGHT
On the first night we had dinner at the Animator’s Palate. At this restaurant you have characters experience through the big screen. There are several TV Screens thought the whole restaurant and a Disney character will actually interact with you by asking you questions. Its pretty cool how they can hear you and have a conversation with you and your whole family. Here is what I choose for my food that night.
SECOND NIGHT
Our second night was at the Enchanted Gardens. By far this was the best experience. The place was decorated like you are in a garden. SUGESTION: When booking your cruise, call them and let them know that you would like to seat at the booth for this restaurant. We didn’t know about the different types of seating and when we got there we got a standard table. I am not sure they can guarantee any seating, but on my next cruise with them, I will try to get the booth.
Here is what I ordered for our second night.
THIRD NIGHT (FINAL NIGHT)
Our last night was at the Royal Palace.
All the decoration is about The Cinderella Castle. All waiters are dressed as prince. Breakfast is also served here. But for only couples hours each morning.
